Social Awareness Entry#1
What I learned from reading the newspaper and news articles that each one of them involves us. The newspapers usually talk about how the they are being aware of whats happening around them and you could take action. One of the articles I read was about humpback whale that was stuck on shore and when they found out. They immediately called the lifeguards to call the police and t get to back in the ocean. That showed that they had social awareness by noticing what happened and had social action too because they took action by saving the whale. What you could learn reading from a newspaper or article you can be aware of whats happening in the world and you can think what you could to help change the world or whats happening just around the corner. The more you take notice of your surroundings you can know what is happening around the world and take action to to reduce the weight of the problem. Then you can persuade people to help out too making the problem a little easier to solve. The more you try to help someone you can reduce the problem. What I think that at least you think about whats happening around the thought just counts because many people just need to know from someone or find out by yourself. I think that if you least tried to help someone the results don't matter. At least you gave it your all to help them and support them. This social awareness topic is so great because it lets you think what is occurring right now and what you could to prevent the social issue to expand any farther than it is out to reduce it down to size.

Entry#8-Mother to Son
The mom wants to explain to the son that he should never turn back on his goals and stick with it. That the son will always find problems on his way to the next case of stairs which means that he will find hardships blocking his path to his goal. The mom says that when she was on her path that she found nothing to help her but herself. That there was at least one problem on her path and couldn't do anything to skip but attack it face on. I like how the author wrote how the mom should tell what the son what to do and why. This shows that the author had to face the same hardships as the mom in order what she is now. the mom wants the son to know that she will be along side him to support him on the way. I like how the mom says to the son that there is no light but will face darkness sometimes. The mom wants the son to know that he will face hard times sometimes and when he reaches the end of the path. He will be on the final floor and will see the light. The mom is saying this because she wants the son to be happy and never to give up. The mom thinks that if you work hard and never give up you will be rewarded for your hard work. I liked how the author said thatIn the poem Mother to Son explains about how a mother is taking to her son about how life isn't easy. The mom says how she had faced life that it wasn't easy. The mom wants to say tot he son that he should never give up., "life for me ain’t been no crystal stair". What I think the author is trying to say is that life isn't always fancy but you have to stick to it until the very end. In this poem, what I think the author is trying to say is that if you want to become what you really want you have to stick to it and never lose your hopes on it and don't listen to what people say but yourself. The author wants people to know that if you stick with your goals. You will be happy and successful.

Appreciation of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
When I first read this book in fifth grade I only liked how the author C.S.Lewis wrote about the plot and adventure and the plot of this book. When I first read how Edmund betrayed the others when he joined forces with the White Witch. I was shocked but then I realized that the author thought of this plot of how people can do anything for food and for what they want. But when I read it again in the eight grade then I realized the themes in the book and how the author planned them out in the book so the audience can enjoy figuring them out and what they each stand for. One of the themes is good and bad which is throughout the book. The other theme in this book is Christianity.
I like the book because the author C.S. Lewis puts in many examples of bad and good throughout the book. The characters in the book each represent good and bad it to his second topic which is Christianity. Aslan sacrificed himself in order to get the White Witch to pardon Edmund for his sins. In the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe how the monsters and the White Witch didn't care about Aslan dieing because they knew that they couldn't defeat him even if they tried. Aslan could have done something to save himself from the monsters and is the son of god. That shows that he wanted to save what was really precious to him and would sacrifice himself in order to protect them.
The author shows another topic in the book which is Christianity. Each character in the lion, the witch and the wardrobe each represent a character in Christianity. Aslan represents Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself in order for god to pardon the humans sins. The white witch represents Satan who is like the devil according to Christianity. The White Witch can take any traitors life because she is the emperors hang man who is like the demon. I liked how the author showed that the White Witch is the same as the four Pevensie Children because they had the same father according to what the beaver said. But they had different mothers. The Pevensie kids had Eve who was Adams second wife as their mother who was a human and the White Witch had Lilith who was Adams first wife but was a demon. This shows that the people of Narnia because they were human and they didn't like the White Witch because she wasn't human but part demon.
The people of Narnia didn't want to accept the White Witch because she was a different blood from humans. The White Witch was not accepted after a long time but when the four Pevensie kids came for the first time they were accepted because they were human. That shows that the people of Narnia base if people are good or good by their parents. The kids didn't care about the White Witch who is kind of similar to them because of their father. The kids only paid attention to themselves. The White Witch was born unlucky.

Appreciation of Charlotte's Web
This book show how this spider Charlotte has feelings for this pig named Wilbur. Charlotte helped Wilbur until the very end. Wilbur always thought of Charlotte as a friend and liked her as she is. This shows how two animals can have a deep friendship until the very end. The connection between them shows that they both care for each other and that they will help each other out. I like how the author really shows the relationship of two animals and made them come to life and made us realize that friendship can happen anywhere.
Entry #6
In the lion the witch and the wardrobe, on page 92. Edmund thinks its all Peter's fault and now leaves them to go the witch. I wrote a note that says," Edmund thinks that Peter never supported him like a brother. Edmund is a boy and can only talk to Peter and not his sisters because they are girls. He thinks of the witch as a mother and that's why he went to her side Edmund likes the witch because she attracted him with Turkish Delight and tempted him with the throne of being the ruler of Narnia. Edmund wants to be treated like those important characters. Edmund likes to blame others and doesn't want to take responsibility for them. Edmund thinks he could get away with the actions he took. Edmund just wants to be treated like Peter.Edmund just wanted to be treated like the rest of his siblings and didn't want to treated as a stranger to the pevensie children. This shows that Edmund wanted to have company and that is why he decided to go to the white witch and wanted to spend time to clear his loneliness.
Entry #5
The book is about two characters loving Wilbur and saving him. the book is about friendship that happens throughout the book. the character Fern has been a mother to Wilbur and the character Charlotte has been a guardian or sister to Wilbur. The story in this book shows that Wilbur can't do anything without his friends help. The book shows many examples of friendship and shows how Charlotte is willing to help in many ways. Wilbur wanted friends and got them in his own way. Wilbur got friends because of his personality which everybody liked in the barn. The character Wilbur deserves to get friends because he was kind and willing to help. the author wanted to show this message to the readers and have the same feelings. The book is based on animals and how friendships can be made. What I like about this book that you can refer back to this book when you want to know about true friendship. The book talks about how different he was from the other pigs when they were killed. Wilbur was chosen for Fern because he was special and had many friends to help him out in the time of need and was never abandoned no matter what.

Entry#7-The lion,the witch,and the wardrobe
The book I am reading called "The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe" had meaning throughout the book. The author has used his own knowledge to make the book interesting. I found out many meanings by using Google. The website is called http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/lion/themes.htm and this website talks about how each author made each character represent people from Christianity. The author has done a lot of research to make the book more related to Christianity. In a essay I found from this link http://cslewis.drzeus.net/papers/lionwitchallegory.html talks about how the author has used the first book in the series to create Narnia and keeps writing in the other books of the series to tell other adventures of kids who visiting Narnia. The essay talks about how when Narnia was first created it was still dark and after some time later in the books it started to get brighter. The main characters represent hope or light in the book and the villains represent evil or dark. The book circles around the four main characters and how they will stop the witch from ruling over Narnia. The four main characters are the light trying to prevent the dark from winning and the witch is the dark trying to survive from the light. I found another source which was from this link http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/lion/facts.html and it stated many facts. What it stated was that it was talking about who's point of view it was and what the symbols were. I think these were useful sources to me because it helps understand the book better and what C.S.Lewis wanted the readers to feel the same way he does about the book.
